Top Chef Josh Eggleton visits Bath Harvest HQ Wilmington Farm
We had some very special visitors on the farm this week – we were pleased to host a visit for The Pony & Trap, Michelin Star Restaurant in Chew Magna. Acclaimed Chef Josh Eggleton, who you may recognise from the BBC’s Great British Menu, closed his restaurant for the day and took his whole team out on a local fact finding foodie mission. As a key supplier of theirs, he wanted his staff to see first-hand how the oil they use extensively on their menu was grown and produced.
Luckily the guys came prepared for the keen wind with coats and wellies as we spent some time walking round the farm and stood in a nearby rapeseed field where lots of questions and facts were unearthed! Josh (ever the Chef) was keen to find out what the rapeseed plant leaves tasted like and promptly popped one in his mouth! He actually quite liked it! We took a tour of the press room and then had a tasting followed by tea and cake on the lawn! Another highlight in the Bath Harvest calendar!
